Arts and the Exciting Design Exhibitions
Attending arts exhibitions; as well as exciting design symposiums in any particular field; helps an attendee to get more exposure. More importantly, more insights of how various things work. That is the ideologies behind the creativity of the presenters; their marketing strategies and their future plans. It is also an awesome place; where one can easily network and broaden one’s scope of thinking; by viewing the amazing displays; which usually rock exhibitions.
However, I had this opportunity of attending my very first exhibition; which not only inspired me. But gave me the confidence to pursue my dreams in arts; which had been fading for a while. The local event had been; sponsored by major companies in various industries in arts: ranging from animation, video gaming to performing arts, web developments and design, visual arts, graphic design etc. Just mentioning a few and was to host major personalities in the arts, film and graphics industry.
Nonetheless, I surely wanted to be part of the attendance; which I knew would greatly impact on my amateur career in arts. So you can imagine the ecstasy that gripped me; when I received a confirmation that I had been approved to be part of the attendees of the two days expo in 2013.
Imagination is the Gateway to Better Artistic Works
The expos commenced by various speeches from the guest speakers who highlighted on the needs to nurture local talents. They also encouraged us to be open to each other and try to network in order to increase our visibility and in turn learn more about the best practices which would help us nurture our talents as well as mature in our careers. There are various other points that I noted down, though basically my intention of attending the expo was to get a glimpse of some of the best artistic works done by those who were experienced in various fields.
Then it came the time for the opportunity that I had been waiting for a long time. I went through various stands and marveled at various works; which were being showcased. Although I wasn’t looking for something in particular, I found myself much attracted to film creation and development as well as web design. There wasn’t much to learn here though because most of the stuff was technical, but the amazing displays made me believe that anyone can take time to create something appealing and still make it big in the industry.
I loved hearing the success journey of the various presenters at the expo and tried to visualize their imagination and aspects; which inspired them to use a particular arts design for their works. Most of them were friendly and very supportive. They were ready to answer various queries concerning what they were doing. All this helped me to broaden my focus and think outside the box as I tried to imagine how I could also venture successfully in the field.
Communicating Ideas through Graphics
Eventually, my reward came when I visited a stand; which was manned by a young girl who had created all sort of 2D and 3D visual images of various aspects of nature. The scenes that she had created looked amazing. We had a talk together as I expressed my desire to venture in the creation of such works. She explained softly how she goes about creating the images and the efforts needed to seamlessly do so. At the end, I bought two of her products and I also got her contact; with a promise that she would offer an internship opportunity for me at her company; so that I could get acquitted with how the stuff was done.
I did attend the internship for six weeks and learnt a lot about developing 3D images. This was a necessary step for me, because it helped me gain the experience and expertise; which I used to start my own graphics business; as well as arts.
Eight months down the line my company is now an established entity. I deal with wallpaper design, billboards and arts; along with poster printing and a little of 3D printing. We haven’t been offered numerous contracts but patience is a virtue. From a boy raised by disadvantaged parents, molded by poverty; and motivated by passion. I still have patience to achieve even more in life; along with in my artisan career.
